Extreme Makeover Story on Channel 11 News

January 23, 2005

On Sunday, January 23 Extreme Makeover Home Edition on ABC aired a story about a 17-year-old girl, Jhyrve Sears, who recently underwent seven months of chemotherapy and a blood transplant at Duke Hospital.

While her home in California underwent a makeover (to remove mold and other allergens), a select group of swing dancers was asked to help Jhyrve celebrate here in North Carolina.

Swing dancers from both the MAD Hoppers and the Swingalings performance teams were asked to participate in a special surprise Sock Hop party at George's Garage Restaurant in Durham. Jhyrve watched as swing dancers danced all around her.

The MAD Hoppers were very honored to be a part of this celebration.

The MAD Hoppers are associated with Music And Dance Productions and MAD Academy under the direction of Debbie Ramsey Boz, professional choreographer. Raleigh, North Carolina.
